Signature Genomics offers a full array of financial options to help your patients obtain the answers they need.
Behind every sample we receive is a family waiting for answers—answers that can lead to better care, better treatment and better understanding. At Signature Genomics, we understand the financial challenges families face to obtain genetic testing, which is why we have created several options for your patients based on their unique situation.
- For Self-Pay Patients: Self-Pay Discount
- Should your patient choose to or need to pay for testing at the time of service, Signature Genomics offers an automatic discount off of the list price.
- For Insurance-Bill Patients: Benefit Investigations, Pre-Authorizations, and Appeals
- Should your patient choose to have Signature Genomics bill their medical insurance directly, Signature Genomics can assist both you and the patient by performing a benefit investigation to learn the patient's deductible, level of insurance coverage, and whether a pre-authorization may be necessary. This information is shared with you and also directly with the patient, if desired. If an insurance pre-authorization is required, Signature Genomics will work with your office to obtain necessary documents to send to the insurance company. Following testing, if an insurance company declines to pay for some or all of the cost of testing, Signature Genomics will work with you and the patient to submit an appeal, and will exhaust all appeal options, including external review.
- Financial Assistance
- Your patient may qualify for a discount based on family size and income. This financial assistance is secondary to all other resources available to the patient, including medical insurance coverage, either through individual or group medical plans. Discounts are applied to any amount due from the patient after insurance has paid.
- Preferred Providers
- Signature Genomics has contracted with several large managed care providers such as Humana to make testing even more affordable for patients who have insurance coverage with these organizations.
- Payment Plans
- Signature Genomics is open to working with patients to determine payment plans for the balance due after insurance billing to help ease monthly financial burdens.
- Financial Hardship Program
- If the cost of testing presents a financial barrier that prevents the patient from necessary testing, you may apply on behalf of your patient to the Signature Genomics Financial Hardship Program for funding. Only applications from healthcare providers representing their patients will be considered. The application for testing must be approved by the Signature Genomics Hardship Committee before testing can be performed.
