Title: Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing
Summary Description: The Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing will be the top executive responsible for the development of corporate strategy, including the philosophy for long-range portfolio, organization planning for product development and market implementation, coordination of departments to accomplish company’s strategy, and development and implementation of commercialization strategies worldwide. S/he will direct and oversee all aspects of policies, objectives, and initiatives for the commercial departments of sales & marketing, business development, and various product business lines and markets.
The SVP of Sales and Marketing will be responsible for oversight of the implementation of sales and marketing strategies, business development goals, partnerships, and business plans. S/he is expected to lead strategic planning to ensure growth, profitability, industry compliance and systems improvement.  The position also has the responsibility for overseeing all the organization’s functional areas related to delivering of products and services to the market, which may include coordinating with R&D, manufacturing, regulatory, clinical laboratory service, and sales & marketing.

Job Description: * Responsible for development of corporate strategy and commercial implementation.
* Oversees the Sales & Marketing departmental staff; sets annual revenue goals and objectives; assesses incentive/compensation policies for Sales directors and managers.
* Works with department executive leaders and corporate staff to develop (5) and (10) year business plans for the commercial departments, identifying key activities, priorities and risks.
* Provides leadership, motivates, coaches and manages others, both direct reports and peers/colleagues, to achieve goals with high standards.
* Establishes and implements short and long-range goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures for the commercial departments.
* Oversees the planning, coordinating, and execution of product launch activities.
* Develops in-depth knowledge of current and future competition and executes company strategies to effectively compete and achieve revenue and profit goals.
* Identifies Business Development strategies and works with the business development group.
* Develops in-depth knowledge of current and potential partnerships.
* Participates in the development of new project proposals.
* Promotes positive relations with partners, vendors, and distributors.
* Recommends and administers policies and procedures to enhance business operations.
* Works with CFO on departmental budgets.
* Serves on planning and policy-making committees.
   
Minimum Qualifications:

* Bachelor’s degree in Business or Life Sciences discipline required. Graduate degree and/or MBA preferred.
* Minimum of ten (10) years successful sales experience preferably in selling clinical diagnostic and/or IVD products and/or services.
* Minimum of (5) years in sales management with proven record in recruiting and developing high caliber team, ideally having built the sales organization from an early stage.
* Both large and entrepreneurial company sales leadership experience strongly preferred, with an understanding of how to scale a growing sales organization appropriately over time.
* Prior business experience in strategic planning and execution. Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management.
* Demonstrated track record of success in growing IVD diagnostic services and/or product sales to hospitals, reference laboratories, and/or clinicians.
* Excellent managerial and business skills required, including prior budget management and Profit and Loss responsibility experience.
* Experience in planning marketing strategies, advertising campaigns, and successful public relations efforts.
* Understanding of the regulatory environment surrounding reimbursement for clinical diagnostic tests is preferred.
* International product launch experience considered a plus.

* Ability/ willingness to travel at least 50% of the time, sometimes with minimal advance notice.
